I'm just a girl who likes to DIY anything and everything. More than that, I love teaching people - especially women - how to pick up power tools and create the home of their dreams. Stop waiting for someone else and starting Doing It Yourself. I'll show you how!
Hey guys! I am excited about this project because it uses pieces of furniture I already had. These chairs were lying around the house and found this little coffee table for a local shop. I want to make them match, but it doesn’t go very well with the set and match. The chairs are actually quite darker than the table. I also do not want to just spray paint them all one color I want something a little more modern than that and unique. Keep reading to see how I spray painted these chairs!
The spray paint I will be using is the Glidden Max Flex Paint and primer. Clearly, I was in love with too many colors and ordered them all, so I could look at them and get a better idea of what colors I wanted to use. There are a few reasons why I am super excited to use these. I know you’ll really like them especially if you’re a DIYer and want the best outcome.
I have decided I want a block pattern. The top will be an ivory/cream color and the bottom will be a taupe or grey color. I used some blue painter’s tape to tape where I want the lines. The coverage is so amazing. I made sure to spray down and up to make sure to get into the weave. With just two coats it looks incredible and has great coverage. I use the color “In the Buff” on the top. Another great thing is that this paint dries in 5 minutes so it is so easy for me to cover up the first layer with blue tape and paper and start on the next color. The color I am using for the bottom is “Elephant Gray”.
The Max Flex spray paint formula ensures that there are no drips or streaks. The unique spray pattern allows for fewer passes resulting in a beautiful and flawless look. I did two coats of each color and I absolutely love the way this has turned out.
Hi,
They look great! How did they hold up?
They’ve been outside for two years and they look so good!! I’m super happy with them!
The chairs looks great! Are they natural wicker or plastic/resin outdoor wicker? I am wanting to spray paint outdoor wicker but most tutorials are using natural wicker so I am not sure the spray paint would still well to plastic outdoor wicker.
